Elsa is a criminal defence and international lawyer based in British Columbia, Canada. She has appeared at all levels of court in Canada, representing individuals accused of the most serious offences, including sexual assault and homicide, and serving as complainant counsel in sexual assault matters. 

 

In addition to her criminal practice in Canada, Elsa is also an Associate Member at Church Court Chambers in London, where she advises on international law, war crimes, and victims’ rights. 

 

Elsa brings a deep commitment to international justice through her roles with the International Bar Association. She serves on the War Crimes Committee, co-leading the annual conference in The Hague and contributing to initiatives in Ukraine to strengthen war crimes adjudications and promote fair trial standards. She also sits on the Bar Issues Commission’s Crimes Against Humanity Standing Committee, contributing to global discussions on accountability and atrocity prevention. 

Merging domestic expertise with global perspective, Elsa holds an MA in International Law, an LLB from the University of Otago, and an LLM from Columbia University.
